Introduction about the Center

Regional Center for Sustainable Development & Foresight Studies (SDFS) as an independent think tank is concerned with the public policy and support of State's decision-makers (government sector - private sector - civil society - regional bodies and institutions of Egypt, the Arab world, and the African continent). This comes with the ability to provide alternatives to decision-makers to find suitable solutions to a particular problem or vision within the framework of a future outlook that helps predict the future of all raised issues.

SDFS intends to take part with the government in building new generations, by developing the capacity of individual entity's for future planning, making use of future studies, strategic research, and initiatives, also by consolidating the efforts of government institutions, the private sector, and civil society to provide a clear and correct understanding of the various issues of sustainable development and the future transformations, based on scientific and systematic methods, and by providing professional support to researchers as per community needs, along with raising a generation of consultants able to support the institutions' future studies.

Preserving the Egyptian, Arab and African cultural identity will be one of our commitments in raising and building a modern person, who belongs to his homeland, through a set of positive values to achieve a social consensus based on real sustainable development. The Center performs its role through the support of its Board of Directors, consisting from members with long-standing scientific and practical experiences in various fields of business who were leaders of a lot of major international institutions. We are proud of our esteemed Board of Directors, made up from members with many years of practical and long-standing experience that will contribute to effective governance that helps achieve the set goals and accomplish our mission towards the communities in which we operate. It also supports the efforts of the different generations of the Center, represented by the executive management and a generation of consultants and trainers whom we struggle to build.

Despite this, the Center has been keen to recruit long-experienced members in the consultative body, not inferior to Board of Directors members, otherwise higher in academic experiences in addition to practical experiences. The Center's consultative body is composed of members with prominent positions, scientifically and morally, nationally and internationally.

The Regional Center for Sustainable Development & Foresight Studies is looking forward to implementing some of the activities that achieve the Board of Directors' vision, mission, and strategic objectives, without departing from sustaining the highest professional and practical standards in carrying out those activities, namely:

• Studying Public Policy.
• Sustainable Development Consultancy.
• Develop studies and implement projects with government institutions, private sector and civil society.
• Provide initiatives in our field of business.
• Provide technical Support Services.
• Innovation and institutional excellence are our top priorities.
• Launching an awareness program.
• Establish a center for training and preparation of human resources.

We will always be keen to create partnerships with consulting firms, distinguished Arab and foreign universities, and similar centers. We will be very careful that these partnerships are for cooperation and exchange of knowledge, and never to deviate from our goals and values and our Egyptian, Arab and African personalities. We pray for this work to be sustainable, beneficial for our countries, and a positive influence on the present and future generations. We seek to build the future. We will witness the future and the future is coming to us. May Allah protect our homelands, guide us to what pleases Him, and to the good of our peoples.
